Translate It! Complaining about slow responses from some of the ladies, we feel we need to emphasize that you will get the best and fastest response if you send both in English and Thai, at least in your first few letters.

Most of our ladies don't work in the tourist areas and therefore do not regularly speak with English-speaking men. They are regular Thai girls and although they have had some English language but don't use it every day. So they must take a good deal of time to translate and compose a response.

Their other option is to pay for translation. Although relatively inexpensive by western standards, translation services are quite expensive for most of the ladies. Don't make them spend all their hard earned money to read your letter or emails. Get it translated before you send it to them.

Our ladies are all genuinely interested in meeting a western man so your chances of getting a good response are great. Here are some tips for achieving the best results.

Use simple English in your letters.  Many Thai ladies have limited English reading and writing skills so don't make it complicated.

Emails are extremely impersonal. Most women especially those with free email accounts change them regularly as they start to receive Spam and abusive messages. Introduce yourself nicely via postal mail with enclosed photographs. Start by showing that you are "for real". Once your sincerity is established, then emails work well.

Introduce yourself properly. Don't brag about yourself. These ladies don't want a boastful man to correspond with. It is important to be yourself in introducing yourself to these ladies.

A small compliment makes a big impression with Thai ladies.  It may seem obvious to you that she is beautiful but make sure your tell her.  She may not be used to hearing it.

Age - The Thai ladies you see here are sincere about meeting a western man.  They aren't looking for a young playboy.  They almost always want a man who is quite a bit older, typically 10 or 15 years or more their senior.  So don't be afraid to contact one of the girls who is much younger than you.

Be patient. Remember that snail mail is VERY slow, one to two weeks in each direction. And even with email, it may take a week or so to get a response because few of the ladies own a computer. They must visit an internet cafe to read email.

Stress your good qualities like your gentle nature and good heartedness.  The quality of "jai dee" or "good heart" is very important to Thai ladies.   Don't focus on material wealth.  Compared to them nearly every western person is wealthy so you don't need to talk about it.  If you are financially secure and able provide a good middle class standard of living then you are quite a catch in the eyes of any Thai lady.

Don't make jokes or say anything derogatory about Thailand 's royal family or the Buddha.

Thai ladies can be very jealous.  It is best to avoid even the slightest provocation.  Don't talk about other women, including past girlfriends or wives.

A few words of Thai and an appreciation for the culture will go a long way to making her feel comfortable with you. 

Write her a letter if you want to discontinue writing her.  If you feel that she is not the right girl you're looking for, write her a letter if you decide to discontinue writing to her or to someone. In that way, she will not expect you to write her back. The best thing to do is to tell her the truth.

Save all of your letters and e mails. Tell her to save all of her letters and e mails because this will help with the immigration process. The immigration will ask you for some proof that you're corresponding or you're engaged either by letters or by pictures together.  As a lady, she is expecting that you will be true to your promises.  Don't promise to visit her until you are willing to do so. 

Write your address fully and clearly and their address correctly, and don't forget to include the country on both addresses because you're writing internationally.
